Life Science and Geography too! |

Welcome to my teacher page. This is a work in progress, so check in often to see what's what. My hope is that this site will be a three-way tool for parents, students and me to increase communication. The first items that are included for parents are homework and class news. For students there's homework (again) and links to places that I want you to go for information or exploration. For me this will also be a place that I can share slide shows of my travels, which are related to both science and social studies. First, a bit about my journey to W.B.M.S. I grew up in Syracuse, New York, then escaped to Maine for college. I received my A.S. at Unity College the went on to University of Maine, Orono for my B.S. in Environmental Science and Land Use Planning. After graduation I moved to Hadley, and later settled in Hatfield. At American International College I earned a Masters Degree in Education, with an emphasis on teaching science at the middle school level. My first five years teaching were in Holyoke, where I switched to teaching math. In 1997 I came here to White Brook, and after five more years of teaching math I moved back to science. Now that our two children are adults, my husband and I have been bitten by the travel bug. In the last few years we have visited Tanzania, Puerto Rico, Mexico, Iceland and Nepal. Although our trips usually focus on hiking and exploring, I am fascinated by the culture of the people who live in the areas we visit.
